Donate and Volunteer to Help Japan Rebuild!

This August, the House Repair Project was launched in Higashimatsushima, Miyagi. Five families have been selected to receive financial support from Habitat Japan and their houses are under repairs now.

He started repairing his house by himself as he decided to return home as soon as possible. Habitat's volunteers also helped gut damaged walls and paint newly installed ones. Mr. Takekawa thanked each volunteer with his home-made tomatoes. Finally, on Sep 27, the repair of the house was completed thanks to the generous volunteers.

Due to the lack of carpenters in the affected area, they found it difficult to contract with a local carpenter and they had no choice but keep living in their damaged house. Habitat Japan introduced a carpenter and the family could start the house repair with Habitat's volunteers, though they were not selected as a recipient of the financial support.
