On July 15 2014, Habitat Japan staff visited Sendai Shirayuri Women's College to give a seminar on Habitat for Humanity and the importance of decent housing. Students who attended the seminar were freshmen and sophomores from Department of Global Studies. A photo exhibition on Habitat Japan took place at the College simultaneously.

Sendai Shirayuri Women's College is the only Catholic university in the region, and the Global Studies department aims to foster talents that are globally aware and ready to take the lead in the international society.

The seminar introduced the Global Village program as well as Tohoku relief efforts. The attendees listened actively to the staff and shared many questions and comments such as "How is the quality of the houses Habitat builds abroad?" and "I would love to be a part of this global movement."

Empowerment and education of the youth is an important part of Habitat Japan's work. Habitat Japan will continue to strive in order to give young people the opportunity to think about the issue of poverty housing and the power the individuals have to take an action.
