everest_3_20100609.pngHabitat Nepal was established in 1997 to address the lack of decent and affordable housing in Nepal. Following a transition to a new model in 2005, Habitat Nepal has now served more than 5,800 families. Currently, Habitat Nepal hopes to reach an additional 5,000 families in the next two years. The Everest Build is a special project to celebrate more than a decade of Habitat's work in Nepal, bringing hundreds of volunteers from all over the world and completing 50 houses. It will symbolically shine a light on the scourge of substandard housing and to physically demonstrate what can be accomplished when families, communities and nations come together in an effort to build a future where every man, woman and child has a decent place to live.
