Amelia Network Co., Ltd. is a new partner organization who has committed to offer free translation services to Habitat for Humanity Japan through their "Translators' Volunteer Station." Amelia is a support organization for professional translators and people who are studying to become translators. Their "Translators' Volunteer Station" connects volunteer organizations and volunteer translators.
In 1985, Fellow Academy Translation School (Fellow Network Inc.) started Fellow Member's Club (FMC), which is now Amelia. Amelia encourages translators by providing information to strengthen their skills, stands as a liaison between translation companies and translators, and support approximately 10,000 members.
The Amelia "Translators' Volunteer Station" connects Non-Profit Organization (NPO), Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), and other volunteer organizations with translators who are eager to contribute to society with their translating skills. Additionally, translators are able to gain further experience through their volunteer work. Every year, 30 to 40 volunteer organizations benefit from the "Translators' Volunteer Station."
Similar to other volunteer organizations, Habitat Japan has literature and many reports that are written in both Japanese and English. Approximately 30 Amelia members who agree with Habitat's beliefs and activities have registered as Habitat volunteer translators. Habitat Japan appreciates and anticipates a great deal of support from the Amelia volunteer translators.
