Over 17 student leaders joined Habitat's Global Village (GV) program Team Leader Training at Habitat Japan office in Tokyo, on Nov 29.
Habitat Japan holds this training in Tokyo and Osaka every spring and autumn, and Habitat Japan's GV coordinators explained about Habitat's General information and GV programs, risk-management, process about GV applications, and more.
Participants seemed a little nervous during the group discussion at the beginning of the training. However, they soon became comfortable sharing their ideas about Habitat and GV program. The detailed explanation by GV coordinator Mr.Yamazaki had very useful information which was new to us.
Moreover, we had Mr.Ishii of travel agency "Air Voyage" to explain about the air tickets, travel insurance, etc. Mr.Ishii had joined GV with Campus Chapter team a year ago. He kindly advised us to contact him for an advice. I'm sure that team leaders were very encouraged to have a very close specialist who had experienced Habitat.
I believe that team leaders should share these information and knowledge they learned at this training, with other team members. So that they would be make better communication and stronger team.
At the end of the training, I found out that GV team is organized not only by team leaders. I realized that GV team should be organized with a lot of supports and understanding of each team members, GV program is run by not only the housing countries, but also Habitat Japan staffs, travel agency, and many other Habitat supporters.
