On February 27, a massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck Chile. According to the Chile's president, more than 2 million people have been affected (at least 300 dead) and 1.5 million buildings were damaged.
Habitat Chile has provided more than 3,500 families with adequate housing since 1998 and has extensive training in working in disaster recovery. From all experience Habitat earned in Chile and around the world, it will mobilize all available resources to address shelter solutions for low-income families affected by the quake.
