Saga JET that send volunteer teams every "Golden Week" in May, is preparing to send another team lead by Ms. Colin Cookman. Their destination for this year is Darkhan, Mongolia.
They organized a fundraising event at SaganTosu's home game on March 18th. As known, SaganTosu is a J2 ranked succor team based in Saga, and this day's game was against Aichi FC.
The Saga JET team member had the photo exhibition and flyer distribution to get many people's attention. They also had homemade muffins and cookies distributed in exchange of each coin of 500 yen, and that resulted in the donation of 64,000yen.
Thanks to the team, many people in Saga could learn about the poverty housing issue in Mongolia and Habitat's efforts around the world!
As Ms. Alida Speler, one of the team members is also the member of the city's Kokusai Koryuin (representative ambassador who works for local governments' awareness raising), the team could hold this event in cooperation with Sagan Dreams. Co. and the staff at Tosu city office.
