On a rainy spring day May 31st, volunteers from our corporate partners DuPont Styro and Bloomberg volunteer with Habitat Japan to clean the gutters surrounding the site of a craft room under construction at the Bott Memorial Home, an orphanage in Kanagawa Prefecture.
Clogged with fallen leaves and mud, the blocked gutters posed a risk of overflowing and in turn flooding the craft room construction site with muddy water. To address this urgent issue, volunteers from both companies worked diligently to shovel and remove accumulated debris and mud. Despite the inclement weather, the volunteers decked in rain gear were up for a challenge, with some even pulling weeds growing in the mud with their bare hands.
DuPont Styro and Bloomberg are both key supporters of our Facility Improvement Program. In addition to their financial contribution, DuPont Styro has generously donated 80 panels of their proprietary Styroluster insulation for this project, utilized in the craft room’s roof and floor. With the craft room’s completion just around the corner in July, we extend our sincerest gratitude to both companies for their support and for their dedication to the project as volunteers.
