Two 8th Grade Middle School students from Sato Middle School in Hatogaya City,
Saitama Prefecture visited Habitat Japan Office, and had chance to think about 'The
World and Us' spending their Comprehensive Learning Time. The students became
interested in ''Supporting developing countries" through their classes at school.
They searched online to know more specifically about the topic, and found out about
Habitat Japan. Habitat Japan explained to them, with reference materials and pictures,
about the countries in poverty, people trying to escape from there, and various efforts
of Habitat to help these people. They were able to understand that most of Habitat's
works are done by volunteers and fund donors, and also that there are lots of people
who support these works.
They sent a letter to the office saying, "We want to keep studying more deeply about
what we have learned today". We hope that, from now on, they study and work hard.
Also we, Habitat Japan, will work harder as well.
