Thank you for your continued support of Habitat Japan. We regret to inform you that, beginning July 2025, we will temporarily suspend taking on new cases for our cleaning and tidying support program, Project HomeWorks.

Launched in Japan in 2017, Project HomeWorks addresses the needs of an increasing number of isolated households domestically. Heping the elderly, people with disabilities, single-parent households and more, Project HomeWorks endeavors to create safe and decent homes by collaborating with volunteers and welfare organizations to provide cleaning and tidying support. Thanks to the ongoing support of our dedicated volunteers, we have offered services to approximately 300 households to date. We are sincerely grateful for the invaluable dedication of their time and effort from our volunteers.

After careful consideration of the capacity of our current organization in terms of both human and financial resources, it is with a heavy heart that we made the difficult decision to suspend new inquiries through the program. While we will continue working to support our ongoing cases, we have no scheduled date for the resumption of new inquiries at this time.

While Habitat Japan will be suspending Project HomeWorks for a time, we remain committed to creating a world where everyone has a decent place to live by tackling urgent housing needs of communities in Japan by expanding our work to provide support for welfare facilities like children’s homes through our Facility Improvement Program.
