Shunsuke Nakamura is a Japanese professional footballer who plays for the Yokohama FC. He is the only player to have been named J. League MVP more than once, receiving the award in 2000 and 2013. Nakamura has also been a part of the Espanyol, Celtic, and Reggina teams in Europe. During his time at Celtic, he was nominated for the 2007 Ballon d'Or and became the first Japanese player to score in the UEFA Champions League. Nakamura has competed with the Japanese national football team, including appearances in the FIFA World Cup finals in 2006 and 2010.
