Global Festa JAPAN 2008 Report!
One of the biggest NPO festivals “Global Festa Japan 2008” was held in Hibiya Park, Tokyo on the weekend of Oct 4th and 5th. Over 96,000 people visited the festa and many of them stopped at Habitat Japan booth.
Many members of Kanto (Tokyo region) Campus Chapters and Campus Club participated in as volunteers, and promoted Habitat’s general information and our next open team “Japan Hope Builders” in Feb & Mar 2009.
Moreover, many visitors had joined making Origami (Paper crane) which next “Japan Hope Builders” teams will bring to Bangkok next Spring. Thanks to all the visitors and volunteers, we had collected over 300 cranes in 2 days. 。
Very interestingly, some of the international visitors we’ve met were former Habitat employees who had worked in South Africa and South Korea. They visited this festival and found our booth coincidentally. This Global Festa was a great opportunity for us to promote our activities and poverty housing issues, also great place to reunite all Habitat supporters.
