\n\"Guinsaugon<\/a>In 2006, HFH Japan's first open GV team called \"Japan Hope Builders (JHB)\" worked to build houses for the families whose houses were damaged by a landslide in Guinsaugon located in St. Bernard, Southern Leyte, the Philippines. Though Leyte Island was severely affected by the typhoon Haiyan, the damages in Guinsaugon were reportedly limited. However, the broad areas of Leyte, including Tacloban, the center of Leyte, were devastated and many people in the affected are in need of water, food, medical care and shelter.
\n\"distribution<\/a>HFH Philippines has started distributing emergency shelter repair kits to support affected families in their immediate shelter needs. These first kits were distributed on Bantayan Island, one of the areas most affected by the Typhoon, which is located to the west of Cebu Island. In total, HFH Philippines has targeted to distribute 30,000 shelter repair kits and 50,000 clean-up kits across the country. The longer-term response following the initial phase will be focused on rebuilding homes.
