\"JAPA-12-7754-MF-resized.JPG\"<\/a>Two years since the Great East Japan earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011, Habitat for Humanity Japan continues to support the recovery process by addressing shifting but persisting needs in the Tohoku region of northern Japan.
\nThe needs of survivors are various and increasing since the disaster. In 2011, emergency assistance came first: clearing debris from homes and community spaces, and distributing 'home starter kits' to families starting life in temporary shelters. People were struggling every day to live and to protect their families, and Habitat for Humanity Japan provided support to as many families in need as possible.

\n2012 : Growing Needs of Housing<\/Font><\/strong>
\nIn 2012, the demand is for better housing; improving temporary shelter environments and repairing houses in order to return home. As a housing specialist, Habitat is strategically best placed to assist families to find suitable housing solutions: home repairs, community revitalization, and improve temporary shelter living environments.<\/p>\n
