Donate<\/a> and Volunteer<\/a> to Help Japan Rebuild!
\nHabitat Japan is working to improve living environment at temporary shelters in Ofunato, Iwate Prefecture. In early November, Habitat's volunteers built and installed canopies at Omamezawa Temporary Shelter Complex.
\n\"tohoku_ofunato_20121110-11_nissanteamD<\/a>24 families are living at Omamezawa Complex, where houses had no roofing to shade back side windows. The residents found it difficult to effectively use the space outside to keep stuff and to hang laundry especially when it rains. It was quite natural for the residents to say after the installation, \"Now we do not have to rush home to bring in the laundry when it starts raining.\"

\nThis time, 2 teams of 42 employees from Nissan Motor Co.<\/a> lended their helping hands, following the previous 2 teams coming to Ofunato this September and October. One of the volunteers, Ryo Shimizu heard about this trip from his father, Tadashi, who joined the previous Nissan team and decided to apply himself.
\n\"tohoku_ofunato_20121110-11_nissanteamD<\/a>Ryo said, \"I realized how blessed I am to have a home I can return to through this trip, building and installing canopies for the disaster-affected people. I believe our work can be a help for the families here to better their living conditions. I also hope that the families can say 'I am home!' with a big smile every time they return home.\"
\nHabitat Japan is continuously working with the affected families by providing help and supporting to their urgent needs.
