\n\"Futon_Onagawa_20110922<\/a> \"Futon_Onagawa_20110922<\/a>September 22nd, Habitat Japan delivered futon sets in Shinmachi area of Onagawa, Miyagi. The beneficiaries were the 144 disaster survivors who were scheduled to move into this temporary shelter complex the next day.
\nThe earthquake caused the land subsidence up to one meter at some parts of Onagawa and the surrounded regions (including Ishinomaki city), and the recent typhoon flooded these areas. As this typhoon triggered evacuation advisory at one point, we considered to postpone the futon delivery but on the scheduled day, the weather permitted us to complete the distribution of futon sets for all 170 families as planned. Total of 728 sets are prepared to be delivered, and it will be carried out in three sessions leaving two more batches in October.
\nHabitat Japan is continuously working with the affected families by providing help and supporting to their urgent needs.
