Habitat for Humanity Japan has sent volunteers　3 times to help the victims. We have noticed that the number of Dozo, the traditional Japanese storage made of mud and sand, were severely damaged in Wajima. Those Dono are basically the possession of individual families, however they are a precious heritage for the society as a whole. Dozo reflects the　distinguished culture of Wajima.
So, we decided to help restore the Dozo with the help of a local architect. This effort is to repair Dozo, not to dismantle them. The repaired Dozo can be used for storing Wajima Nuri, traditional lacquer ware. Thus, this will hopefully contribute to the reconstruction of the community by protecting and redeveloping the culture, and activating the local industry.
We hope you can participate!
Date : August 12 (Sunday) ? 22 (Wednesday),2007 11 days
Place: Wajima-shi, Ishikawa prefecture
Participation fee: free (Lunch and accommodation are free)
Transportation from your house to Wajima is not included.
Please come to Wajima by yourself
Organized by Wajima Dozo Restoration Committee&Habitat for Humanity Japan (HFHJ)
Cooperation with ADRA Japan
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
If you want to know more about the previous Wajima Dozo Restoration efforts can be seen on the web site, please check http://wajimareno.exblog.jp/
We are also planning to have Disaster Response workshop.
(Field coordinator: Toshiya Tsukamoto)

■Registration：
Habitat for Humanity Japan Office (up to 31st July)
Please send us the date you plan to join, your name, address, phone number, and email address.
Fax 03-5330-5572 / info@habitatjp.org
■Condition：
Participants can stay at"Ate no Ie"(House of Ate) for free, a model house, for free.
