{"id":15032,"date":"2025-05-29T09:18:12","date_gmt":"2025-05-29T00:18:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/habitatjp.org\/en\/?p=15032"},"modified":"2025-05-29T14:05:38","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T05:05:38","slug":"facility-improvement-partnering-with-bgo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/habitatjp.org\/en\/archive\/15032","title":{"rendered":"Facility Improvement: Partnering with BGO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span><a href=\"https:\/\/habitatjp.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/BGO2502516-36.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/habitatjp.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/BGO2502516-36-960x720.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-29029 size-large\" \/><\/a><br \/>\u201cWe are proud to support Habitat Japan and those in need by putting BGO\u2019s greatest strength\u2014teamwork\u2014into action.\u201d<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>These heartfelt words came from one of the volunteers from BGO, a long-time corporate partner of Habitat Japan.<\/p>\n<p>On May 16th, a dedicated team of 21 BGO employees volunteered their time to help improve the environment at several welfare facilities in Tokyo\u2019s Meguro Ward, including the children\u2019s home <em>Meguro Wakabaryo<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The volunteers took on a range of tasks that are often difficult for facility staff to manage on their own, such as removing overgrown weeds and cleaning out rain gutters. They also tackled long-overdue maintenance, including the cleaning of filters and grilles for 16 air conditioning units at an elderly care facility located on the same grounds.<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"c-photo\">\n<ul class=\"c-photo-body c-photo-body--row3\">\n<li class=\"c-photo-item\">\n<p class=\"c-photo-item__img\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/habitatjp.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/BGO2502516-28.jpg\" class=\"lightbox\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/habitatjp.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/BGO2502516-28-468x336.jpg\" alt=\"\">\n<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"c-photo-item\">\n<p class=\"c-photo-item__img\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/habitatjp.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/BGO2502516-31.jpg\" class=\"lightbox\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/habitatjp.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/BGO2502516-31-468x336.jpg\" alt=\"\">\n<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"c-photo-item\">\n<p class=\"c-photo-item__img\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/habitatjp.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/BGO2502516-50.jpg\" class=\"lightbox\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/habitatjp.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/BGO2502516-50-468x336.jpg\" alt=\"\">\n<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n Following the activity, a staff member shared their appreciation: We operate several welfare facilities on the same premises. Normally, our staff are fully occupied with day-to-day operations, and we rarely get a chance to coordinate across facilities. The arrival of volunteers gave us a valuable opportunity to discuss and share our most pressing needs. Their support helped us take care of tasks we\u2019ve long struggled to address on our own. We are truly grateful.\u201d<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Through our Facility Improvement Program, Habitat Japan addresses the aging infrastructure and environmental challenges faced by welfare institutions such as children\u2019s homes.
