All the families have lived in sub-standard housing for all or most of their lives. These families currently live in or near the former dumpsite in Phnom Penh. One of the greatest difficulties they faced in Phnom Penh was finding steady work. Habitat for Humanity Cambodia is working together with International Children's Care Australia (ICCA) to develop a farm on two hectres of land next to the community where the 22 families will live. Each of the families will have the opportunity to work on this farm which will grow fruits, vegetables, and raise chickens, with a fish pond currently has over 6,000 fish. The ICCA is providing training for the Habitat families with the goal of turning over the farm to the community in three years. All the families have lived in sub-standard housing for all or most of their lives. These families currently live in or near the former dumpsite in Phnom Penh. One of the greatest difficulties they faced in Phnom Penh was finding steady work. Habitat for Humanity Cambodia is working together with International Children's Care Australia (ICCA) to develop a farm on two hectres of land next to the community where the 22 families will live. Each of the families will have the opportunity to work on this farm which will grow fruits, vegetables, and raise chickens, with a fish pond currently has over 6,000 fish. The ICCA is providing training for the Habitat families with the goal of turning over the farm to the community in three years.
