During this state of emergency, staying home together with our families helps save lives.

We remember, however, that millions of vulnerable people including children and elderly don’t have homes to stay in. And millions more are becoming increasingly vulnerable because of lost income as businesses close due to COVID-19. Families in Japan and Asia-Pacific that will be served by Habitat Japan are not exempt from this and they are already feeling the effects of the disruptions caused by the pandemic.

Habitat Japan is committed to continuing its work of building safe homes in Asia through the Global Village program and supporting the elderly and vulnerable population in Japan to have a decent and hygienic living condition through Project HomeWorks.

"Build Home at Home” challenge

A simple and fun activity for you or with your family!

Your generous donation allows you to enter our “Build Home at Home” challenge to raise awareness for those in need of safe shelter.

As you stay home to protect yourself and your family, join our challenge to “build” a home, using materials you can readily find in your house - candy boxes, toilet paper rolls, cardboard, empty bottles – whatever you have on hand. The more creative, the better!

Once you build your house, snap a picture and share it on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter using the hashtags #HabitatJapan and #BuildHomeAtHome.
