Join us to bring light and joy to families in India and Japan

Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit organization that aims to create a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Since 2003, Habitat for Humanity Japan has been partnering with corporations, schools, universities and individuals to raise funds and awareness to build and improve homes in partnership with families in need of a decent and affordable home.

This year, our Homecoming theme is inspired by Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights and we are aiming to bring light and joy to families in India through the implementation of housing-related interventions. It is estimated that more than 73 million families in India do not have access to decent housing and about 40 percent of the population defecate in the open. To eliminate these inadequate housing issues, Habitat Japan, in partnership with Habitat India, will be building homes and toilets for Indian families living in poverty.

Homecoming will also support Project HomeWorks, Habitat Japan’s domestic program that mobilizes volunteers to improve the living conditions of people in need (elderly, single parents, persons with disabilities) through the cleaning and minor repairs of their homes.

Please join us at our Homecoming event to enjoy Indian-inspired cuisine and entertainment, while learning more about the housing issues that affect families in India. Your participation will help bring light to families who are in need of safe and decent homes.
