【JPN Relief-5】 Toiletries Delivered to Soma city, Fukushima
Donate to Help Japan Rebuild!
On April 12th, Habitat Japan delivered toiletries (20 thousand rolls of toilet paper and 20 thousand boxes of tissue paper) donated by APP Japan to aid in better sanitation for the disaster victims in Soma city, Fukushima.
Soma city currently operates nine evacuation centers hosting approximately 1,800 people in total, according to government officials in Soma city. Five hundred of the evacuees are from neighboring cities where citizens have been forced to leave the areas close to the Fukushima Daiichi power plant. A month has passed since the disaster, relief supplies are reaching more victims than ever; yet it is not nearly enough to accommodate all of the victims. It is expected that the evacuees' living conditions will continue on without drastic improvement into the near future.
